Sean Borodale will be reading from his highly acclaimed topographical poem Notes for an Atlas, as well as lyrigraphs – field poems, live documentary written on location, transcripts, notes, dramatic elements. ’Notes for an Atlas’ was described in The Guardian as ‘an extraordinary poem … [which] rings with sadness, haphazardness and utterly modern beauty’.

Tom Chivers will be reading a selection of poetry about the twenty-first century city, as well as some ‘imagined emails’ to Newgate Prison from The Terrors. He will also read from new works including sections from ‘Closed Circuits’, which focus’s on notions of enclosure, imprisonment, surveillance and celebrity.

Richard Dyer will be reading from his poems dedicated to the memory of Sebastian Horsley around the theme of death and loss.

Sean Borodale is a writer and has been a fellow of the Wordsworth Trust and guest artist at the Rijksakademie, Amsterdam.

Tom Chivers is a writer, editor and live literature producer. Born 1983 in South London, he currently lives in the East End. In Spring 2008 he was the first ever Poet in Residence at The Bishopsgate Institute. His books include How To Build A City (Salt Publishing, 2009) and, as editor, the anthologies Generation Txt and City State: New London Poetry (Penned in the Margins, 2006 & 2009). The Terrors (Nine Arches Press, 2009) was shortlisted for the Michael Marks Award for Poetry Pamphlets. In September 2009 Radio 4 broadcast his documentary about the poet Barry MacSweeney. Tom is Director of live literature producer and small press Penned in the Margins, and co-Director of London Word Festival.

Richard Dyer’s poetry and fiction have been published in Ambit, Contemporary, Moving Worlds, Le Gun, Junger Welt, Cronica Latina, / seconds and The Dark Times. His first poetry collection, A Western Journey was published by Arlen House, in October 2006. In 2008 his second collection, Bog Land Scapes, was released as a DVD. Dyer is also an Editor on Third Text, Art Editor of Wasafiri and a widely published art critic. He will be reading with John Cooper Clarke in Galway in September 2010.
